WORKFORCE STATISTICS
Cullman, Alabama, considered one of the “Top Micropolitans” in the nation by Site Selection magazine, consistently attracts new industries to the area in part because of the community’s highly trained and dedicated workforce. Cullman’s labor pool is comprised of residents in six counties and contains a large percentage of underemployed workers.

Only two of Cullman County’s 140+ manufacturing and distribution companies are unionized. No new manufacturing unions have been organized in Cullman County since 1970. Less than 1% of Cullman County’s workforce is represented by organized labor.

Alabama Association of Employers

Cullman is one of five North Central Alabama counties belonging to the Alabama Association of Employers. This organization monitors third party activity and offers suggestions on how companies can deal more effectively with organized labor and other issues. The association’s main focus is to promote a healthy labor climate and address labor concerns.
