Peggy Smith, Director

Peggy Smith Director of the Cullman Economic Devlopment Agency in Cullman AL   Peggy has served for more than 20 years as the Director of the Cullman Economic Development Agency. She has been active in matters affecting the local business climate of Cullman and also the State of Alabama. Peggy serves as Chairman of the Economic Development Association of Alabama Legislative Committee and is on the Board of Directors for the Cullman Park and Recreation Foundation. She has served as President of (EDAA) and the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce. She has served on the board of directors for the Alabama/Germany Partnership, the Alabama Agribusiness Council, and the Alabama Director to the Board of the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) in 2000. Peggy was recently appointed by Governor Bob Riley to the Alabama Workforce Investment Board and the Alabama Rural Action Commission. Peggy is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute, the Economic Development Course at Georgia Tech, Intensive Economic Development Course of Auburn University and Leadership Cullman.

Dale Greer, Assistant Director

  Dale oversees industrial projects for CEDA. He also coordinates special projects for the office, including serving as project manager over construction of a new dam and reservoir. Mr. Greer serves on the Board of Directors for the Cullman Park and Recreation Foundation Board, Fundraising Chairman for Cullman Rotary Club, President of Wallace State College Foundation, President of Wallace State Alumni Association and the Region 2 Workforce Task Force. He was President of the Economic Development Association of Alabama in 2002-2003. Dale currently serves as Alabama Director of Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC). Mr. Greer is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute, the Economic Development Course at Georgia Tech, Intensive Economic Development Course of Auburn University and Leadership Cullman. He is also a graduate of Wallace State College and Athens State University.

Susan Eller, Project Coordinator

  Susan plans and coordinates special events associated with the EDA office such as: receptions, announcements, groundbreakings, etc. She assists with the project development of Duck River dam and reservoir for Cullman’s future water supply. She makes all travel arrangements for CEDA and agendas for all activities. Susan is an active member of the Cullman Area Workforce Solutions (CAWS) group, which organizes: Keeping It Real, Cullman Career Awareness Expo, Teacher Exchange Program, etc. She is also coordinator of the Cullman Industry/Education Alliance which coordinates employee training programs for local industries. Susan is in her second term as a member of the Good Hope Town Council. She is a graduate of the Economic Development Course at Georgia Tech, Intensive Economic Development Training Course at Auburn University and Leadership Cullman.

Jamie Troutman, Research & Communications Coordinator

  Jamie is responsible for creating presentations, maps and materials distributed by CEDA. She researches information used in comparisons and handouts and manages the website. Jamie writes grants to obtain funds for City of Cullman projects. She works with and keeps records for: Industrial Development Board of the City of Cullman, Downtown Redevelopment Authority, Urban Renewal and Community Development Board and North Alabama Agriplex Board. Jamie is past Chairman of the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce Existing Business and Industry Committee and currently serves as Vice Chairman. She was appointed by Governor Bob Riley to the State Health Coordinating Council in 2005. Jamie received her B.A. in Public Relations from Auburn University. She is a graduate of the Economic Development Course at Georgia Tech, Intensive Economic Development Training Course at Auburn University and Leadership Cullman - class president.

Kevin Jackson, Existing Industry & Economic Coordinator

  Kevin is responsible for incentives related to new and expanding industries. He also provides assistance with expansions, training, international opportunities, abatements and aides in industrial recruitment. Kevin is an active member of the Community Relations Association. He received his B.S. in Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is a graduate of the Economic Development Course at Georgia Tech and the Intensive Economic Development Training Course at Auburn University.
