Cullman Golf Course
Featured in Golf Digest and GolfSouth magazines, the 18-hole Cullman Golf Course has a course rating of 70.6 and a par of 72. The course includes a practice putting green, lighted driving range and clubhouse with pro shop.
TP Country Club
The private 18-hole course at Terri Pines Country Club has a course rating of 70.2 with a par of 72. The facility includes a snack bar, banquet hall, and other amenities.
Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail
Cullman is located within one hour from four of the eleven Robert Trent Jones Trail sites. The trail features 11 courses throughout Alabama, attracting golfers from around the world.
Chester Freeman Park
This complex includes a custom-designed Field of Miracles with a cushioned rubberized turf to help prevent injuries, wheelchair accessible dugouts, and a completely flat surface to eliminate barriers to wheelchair-bound or visually impaired players. The design also includes three grass fields. In addition, accessible restrooms, a concession stand, accessible score and media towers, and a covered play area with a rubberized surface are part of this state-of-the-art complex.
Heritage Park
Heritage Park, which has received the award for “Best Recreation Facility in Alabama”, has five lighted softball/baseball fields, five soccer fields, outdoor volleyball and basketball courts, paved walking trails, picnic facilities, disc golf and playground areas.
Cullman Wellness & Aquatic Center
CWAC has an outdoor water park that features two large water slides, high and low diving boards, lazy river, water play area, and zero entry area for special needs; a full fitness center complete with weights, cardio, specialized equipment, and professional training; and indoor rubberized walking track; an 8 lane outdoor and 6 lane indoor competition pools; an indoor leisure pool; and a gymnasium equipped for both basketball and volleyball
Hurricane Creek Park
Hurricane Creek Park features several miles of hiking trails, a mountain bike course, rock climbing and picnic areas. The park’s gift shop sells rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking gear and the park’s staff conducts rock climbing classes each weekend.
Smith Lake Park
Located on the 21,200-acre Smith Lake, Smith Lake Park features handicap-accessible boat docks, lakeside cabins, camping facilities, swimming pool and other recreational areas. The park is host to several summer festivals including a large 4th of July fireworks display.
Sportsman Lake
Sportsman Lake, located adjacent to the Cullman County Fairgrounds, offers many family-friendly activities. The park includes a miniature golf course, paddle boat rides, playground area, miniature train, picnic areas and walking trails.
Stony Lonesome OHV Park
Stony Lonesome is the first public OHV park of its kind in the state. Open year-round, the 1,456+ acre park features trails for ATVs, rock crawlers, dirt bikes, mountain bikers, equestrians, hikers, pedestrians and more.
Ave Maria Grotto
Featuring 125 miniature reproductions of historic buildings and shrines, the Ave Maria Grotto showcases the detailed work of Benedictine monk Brother Joseph Zoettl. Also known as “Jerusalem in Miniature”, Ave Maria Grotto annually draws visitors from around the world.
Clarkson Covered Bridge
The Clarkson Covered Bridge is one of the longest covered bridges in Alabama. The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was the site of the Civil War Battle of Hog Mountain in 1863.
Cullman County Museum
Located in a replica of Cullman founder Col. Johann G. Cullmann’s home, the Cullman County Museum features historical items telling the history of the county, including the area’s German roots.
Cullman Railroad Depot
The restored railroad depot, located in Cullman’s historic downtown area was once a bustling passenger and freight rail stop. The depotoffered passenger service until 1968 and is included in the National Register of Historic Places. It is now home to the United Way of Cullman County.
Festhall Market Platz
Located in Cullman’s historic warehouse district, the Festhall Market Plats is Alabama’s largest timber-frame structure. The open-air facility is the site of three-day per week farmers markets and other community events.
Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament of Our Lady of the Angels Monaste
Located just south of the city of Cullman, Alabama, the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament is home to the Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration, a cloistered Franciscan Order. The shrine, patterned after Medieval architectural styles, is open to visitors.
Evelyn Burrow Museum at Wallace State Community College
Through her gifts to Wallace State valued in the millions, Evelyn Burrow educates and inspires generations of current and future artists, collectors and art historians. The museum is located in the Ottis and Evelyn Burrow Center for the Fine and Performing Arts on the campus of Wallace State Community College.
